Explorer of the Seas - Children

Ocean Adventures Program

Act your age.
The Royal Caribbean Ocean Adventures program divides young passengers into four groups - Aquanauts (3-5), Explorers (6-8), Voyagers (9-12), and Navigators (13-17). Each group has supervised activities in either Adventure Ocean area or the Teen Disco.

Adventure Beach houses a kid's-only pool and accompanying waterslide. The nearby Challenger's Arcade and computer lab offer more entertaining options. Baby-sitting is available during selected hours.

Adventure Ocean

Where a kid can be a kid
Kids of every age have their own area on the Explorer. Aquanauts, Explorers, and Voyagers participate in arts and crafts, computers, video games, movie nights, and pool play. The Adventure Science program makes learning fun with activities like exploding volcano construction and gooey space mud chemistry. The Voyager has a special kid's version of the daily newsletter, so that the family can plan its day accordingly. In addition to activities on board, the youth staff arranges fun and games on Labadee, Royal Caribbean's private Haitian beach. A new Adventure Ocean dining option allows kids to eat with the youth staff, so you can have a night alone.

Teen's Activities

Privacy at last
Royal Caribbean understands that teens need space away from both adults and younger children. A variety of activities include dance parties, sports tournaments, a battle of the sexes, and an all out crazy scavenger hunt. Most programs don't even start until mid-afternoon, leaving teens plenty of time to sleep off the previous night's techno rave. The Soda Card program allows you to purchase an unlimited number of sodas for a flat fee, a big bonus for thirsty teens.

Aquanauts

Bright, primary colors decorate the playroom for children aged three to five. An arts and crafts area and plenty of play equipment will keep your young seafarer entertained for hours.

Explorers

The highlight of the clubhouse for children aged six to eight is a kids-sized rock-climbing wall. The area also includes an arts and crafts workstation.

Voyagers

Kids from age nine to twelve are welcome to hang out in the Voyager room. A multi- media center gives these young cruisers a chance to express their creativity. The room also features several groups of couches where Voyagers can "talk amongst themselves"

Optix Teen Disco

A large soda bar, a dance floor and cozy sitting areas round out the Explorer's teen club. Not coincidentally Johnny Rockets is right next-door, ready and waiting to quell teenaged appetites.
